The dependencies for this package are incomplete. The page <http://jonas.nitro.dk/tig/> lists required packages at the very bottom, i.e. the build process requires autoconf, asciidoc, xmlto, etc., none of which are mentioned in the PKGBUILD. I'd guess that those packages are "makedeps".

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/i686/tig/ What's the difference? Is it a git version of tig?
