Compilation issues are now fixed with boost 1.86.0-2 in arch repos.

It seems this is actually a breakage in the boost::compute library.

It was noted the previous time there was a boost upgrade that you could work around this by clearing the cache and rebuilding this package. With the upgrade from 1.83 to 1.86, it does not appear that this is the case. This package and nnedi3cl-git both fail to build against boost 1.86. Both give the error below:

/usr/include/boost/compute/detail/sha1.hpp: In member function ‘boost::compute::detail::sha1::operator std::string()’:
/usr/include/boost/compute/detail/sha1.hpp:41:26: error: cannot convert ‘unsigned int [5]’ to ‘unsigned char (&)[20]’
   41 |             h.get_digest(digest);
      |                          ^~~~~~
      |                          |
      |                          unsigned int [5]
In file included from /usr/include/boost/compute/detail/sha1.hpp:18:
/usr/include/boost/uuid/detail/sha1.hpp:179:43: note: initializing argument 1 of ‘void boost::uuids::detail::sha1::get_digest(unsigned char (&)[20])’
  179 | inline void sha1::get_digest(digest_type& digest)
      |                              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~

This is likely an upstream issue, so I will report it upstream.

With the new update from Boost 1.80 to 1.81, Pacman and Paru might complain about this package depending on the older version.

To get around this, I had to forcibly install boost 1.81 and boost-libs 1.81 with Pacman's --nodeps option. I also had to delete Paru's cache directory for this package at ~/.cache/paru/clone/vapoursynth-plugin-eedi3m-git.

Once that was done, I ran paru -S vapoursynth-plugin-eedi3m-git. It compiled and installed without issues.

vapoursynth-plugin-xaa-git is already upgraded and about havsfunc (non-git), you need tal with the actual maintainer

jholmer commented on 2021-10-14 00:00 (UTC)

This package rename seems to be causing some issues with havsfunc and xaa packages, which depended on eedi3cl. Should this package add vapoursynth-plugin-eedi3cl-git as a provides, or do those other two packages need to be updated?

done
