There is no version dependency on this package on purpose! You could read comments back from 2011 to understand why.

@seblu: It is out-of-date. Version 4.0.4 is out.

@uberGeek: please don't mark this package out-of-date until it's not out-of-date!

@vigilandy: If you would like to change the dependencies on your own machine, try customizepkg-new. It automates changes to packages and integrates with yaourt.

@cyberpatrol: I see, thanks for the clarification.

@vigilandy: Qt should not be a dependency of this package, because this package depends on virtualbox from [community] and qt is already an optional dependency of virtualbox. It's an optdepend, because it's only necessary if the VirtualBox GUI is used.

I was getting the following error when running: "VirtualBox: supR3HardenedMainGetTrustedMain: dlopen("/usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so",) failed: libQtCore.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" I resolved it by installing the qt package. Shouldn't this be a dependency?

For info, it crashes the same way with VirtualBox 4.0.2-4 from [Community-Testing].
