For anyone who don't want to track upstream's git, there's now a "stable" whipper package as well: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/whipper

@BoBeR182: Commented over there for possible solutions.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/whipper-eaclogger-git/ Wants morituri still?

@ArchangeGabriel Thanks for digging this and bringing it up in https://github.com/JoeLametta/whipper/issues/47#issuecomment-268402472. For now I'll leave it as is then (32 bits are really becoming rare those days). Along prepare{} I also removed the build{} step which isn't needed anymore either. I just pushed the updated PKGBUILD to the AUR.

@neitsab: About accuraterip checksum, the diff is here: https://github.com/leo-bogert/accuraterip-checksum/pull/3. So it should only matter for 32bit systems AFAIU. Anyway, we should not package it in whipper, IMHO at best we could ask AUR maintainer of accuraterip-checksum to include that patch.

@BoBeR182 As rightly said by ArchangeGabriel, morituri provide/conflict were removed after whipper author confirmed both packages could coexist. See https://github.com/JoeLametta/whipper/issues/63#issuecomment-261402074. @ArchangeGabriel On it, thanks for the tip. However, what do you think about this assertion concerning accuraterip-checksum: > Whipper uses and packages a slightly different version of the `accuraterip-checksum` tool Have you experienced any issues with AR checksums (I didn't rip any disc recently)?

Archange commented on 2016-12-21 00:20 (UTC)

@neitsab: submodules have been removed, you should remove the `prepare` function.

Archange commented on 2016-12-21 00:10 (UTC)

@BoBeR182: No it should not (and in fact it’s been changed the other way around) since whipper does not provide the rip command anymore and the fact they can now cohabit.

The PKGBUILD should be updated to say provides=('whipper' 'morituri') and conflicts=('whipper' 'morituri')
