Any chance we could the .desktop entry installed too? Something like this should do the trick.

install -Dm644 "${_pkgname}.desktop" "${pkgdir}/usr/share/applications/${_pkgname}.desktop"

The author (barrotes on the AUR) specifically made changes this year so this AUR package could be updated. I'm sure you saw the reddit post.

It won't be in good faith to change the upstream URL. Try to get your changes upstreamed, or perhaps create a new package? (I only see a PR for a PKGBUILD on the repo)

Hi, i have tried to add some changes to the original repos but the author seems to be away This fork contains a lot of changes and quality of life improvements which is mentioned in the README.

https://github.com/AlfredEVOL/zaread

If u think this changes are worth it and if the author is away, you could change the source to this fork.

P.S : i am maintaing this fork

Done.

Why was this suddenly orphaned while I was maintaining it? If it can't be undone, can I be added as co-maintainer please?

eNV25 commented on 2022-04-24 11:10 (UTC)

TheOPtimal, please orphan the package so someone else can pick it up.

txtsd commented on 2022-04-24 00:15 (UTC)

I maintain a few AUR packages myself. I'd like to be co-maintainer along with barrotes.

Hi TheOPtimal, if it's needed, being the maintainer of the original source code (and a long time Arch user) I can provide to keep this updated. Never did it before, so I'm documenting about how to do it in a proper way

Hey guys, I don't actually use Arch Linux anymore. If anyone would like to take over as maintainer, that would be great.
