@minextu thank you!

@predmijat Because every zfs package needed a separate zfs/spl-utils package that was basically the same on all kernels, there will be only one zfs/spl-utils-common package for all kernels going forward (see https://github.com/archzfs/archzfs/pull/129). Pacman should just ask you to replace any old utils package with the new one, so you won't have to do anything special.

Could you elaborate on "The second one changes the names of the packages in AUR."? What is the proper way to update the system when the name changes?

Hi everyone, thanks to @minextu have have some big updates in the works. I am currently testing the changes. * support for linux-hardened kernel * Support installing multiple archzfs package groups side by side * support for 0.6.5.11 stable The second one changes the names of the packages in AUR.

@demizer, just a heads up that 0.6.5.11 is releases, which seems to address the gcc issues.

As I upgraded from 4.10.13 to 4.11.6, I cannot use zfs-linux-git (rather I do not want to downgrade). zfs-dkms seems to work on my Linux.

I've used -git for a couple of years. The ZOL git repo is reliable. You can also run an LTS kernel.

Since first installing Arch three years ago, the longest I had gone without performing a system update was two weeks--until now. What's everyone doing? Are most of you using archzfs-git? It doesn't feel right running a kernel that's been publicly disclosed as insecure.

A new stable release of OpenZFS version 0.6.5.10 is out, but it does not address the gcc 7.1.1 build errors. These packages will remain out-of-date until a stable release of OpenZFS is made fixing the gcc build issues. That might take some time. Until then, if anyone really needs to update their kernel, use the archzfs-git packages.
