Just a suggestion... Could you change the install requirement to the minor version number instead of the point release. A module built on 4.7.5 should work fine on 4.7.6. The nvidia (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia/) package works this way. It would cut down on your work and the user complaints about being out of date. Thanks.

@demizer: Thank you not only for the testing and updates but also for addressing @butler360's answer to my inquiry. These past few weeks have been pretty crazy.

Those who are desperate to use the very latest and untested (!!!) code, may check my PKGBUILDs at https://github.com/kerberizer/archzfs-git. But keep in mind that unlike @demizer, I'm afraid I cannot offer any support for them, since they are for my own use, and while I try from time to time to merge changes from here, they might not cover all possible ZFS use cases. The filesystem is something which you usually don't want to take any risks with, but again, if it's just for testing or reference or if you don't really care that much about your data, that might turn out helpful. P.S. It's exactly this critical importance of the filesystem support that requires extensive testing before pushing the changes to the general public. And this is why it's inevitable with carefully maintained packages that there is some lag (the kernel package itself usually stays several weeks in [testing], so we get the newly released kernels almost a month later). @demizer is thus doing what's right and is doing it well.

Already out of date again! Def switching to the LTS kernel, since the mainline kernel turns around so much.

Hi everyone, I have 0.6.5.8 building for the current kernel 4.7 package. Just doing some testing now. Should go out later today or tomorrow. @NoSuck, @butler360 is correct.

@NoSuck: 1. It was flagged out of date probably just because it wasn't compatible with the current Arch kernel. 2. This wait was quite a bit more than normal.

0.6.5.8 was released today, which supports linux kernel up to 4.8

Hi All, JFYI; zfsonlinux have cut a 0.7.0-rc1 release, so looks like we are getting closer. The zfs-0.7.0 release claims to support up to linux kernel 4.8. https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/releases/tag/zfs-0.7.0-rc1 Jev

I have only used demizer's ZFS repos for a few months. The repos are great, but I have two questions about upgrades: 1. This package is currently flagged as out of date. Is that not incorrect? Upstream <http://zfsonlinux.org> currently shows 0.6.5.7 as the latest version, which is only compatible up to linux 4.6. Upstream is the one "out of date," not this package. 2. It has been almost two months Arch upgraded linux to 4.7, yet ZoL upstream has yet to release something compatible. Does this happen often? More than a month is a long time to go to hold off performing a system update...

@demizer: Looks like everything can be updated now. According to the comments in that thread you linked to, the AUR push bug has since been fixed. Quietly awaiting updates to support the 4.7 kernel.
