@serxxx: For reference, this was the error:

==> Validating source_x86_64 files with md5sums...
    gotop_v3.5.0_linux_amd64.tgz ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

What if every maintainer in the AUR would switch to sha256. Now that would create some real noise.

@willemw noticed an issue that I caused with updating the PKGBUILD. The build system was using md5sums from the mkpkg system, and after I was informed to not use the canonical tools for generating hashes, I switching the package to sha256 on the 16th. If you encounter a hash error with v3.5.0, please install with the "clean" option to make sure you get the updated changes.

I'm leaving this comment up in case other people notice the same thing. And, again -- sorry for the line noise @willemw, and thank you for noticing and commenting about this.
