@yodaembedding: this is a problem with Inkscape, not with this package. If you just do inkscape --export-filename=file.png file.svg, you'll get the same error. I'll check whether this bug is already reported and report it myself if it's not. Nevertheless, I suggest choosing some other theme since this one hasn't been updated in two years. Or at lease consider using this fork https://gitlab.com/GZGavinZhao/plata-theme , which adds support for GTK4.

Edit: Filed the bug report https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/77141

Errors when building inside a clean chroot:

...
/usr/bin/inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_filesystem.so.1.80.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_filesystem.so.1.80.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
./render-assets-gtk2.sh: line 28: [: : integer expression expected
/usr/bin/inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_filesystem.so.1.80.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Rendering ../assets-gtk2/Arrows/down.png
./render-assets-gtk2.sh: line 28: [: : integer expression expected
Rendering ../assets-gtk2/Check-Radio/check-mixed.png
Rendering ../assets-gtk2/Column/column.png
...

Building outside clean chroot works.

Tip: if makepkg was complaining about some .png not found after the rendering, you probably have firejail installed. Remove the symlink at /usr/local/bin/inkscape then it will build fine.

@nickray Are you sure? I cannot find any references of it, at least not after skimming through configure script.

Missing aspell dependency.

@nightuser dirty hack but very effective :) thanks!

nightuser commented on 2019-09-26 07:11 (UTC)

@Terence: I added a small hack to build mate themes only if marco is already installed. Works for me buy can you test it on your system, please?

What are the dependencies that would pull gnome-shell? It's not a big deal but yeah I can either just do --rmdeps or use sub-packages.

nightuser commented on 2019-09-25 18:18 (UTC)

Well, another option would be to support sub-packages and allow building only specific ones. I'll look into it soon.

nightuser commented on 2019-09-25 18:16 (UTC)

@Terence: So, what someone who uses mate and not gnome should do? Install unneeded dependencies for gnome? If you don't want to have make-dependencies in your system then add -r (or --rmdeps) flag to makepkg. They'll be removed after a successful build.
