Anyone who meet the problem of launching wpspdf, please install the optional dependency libtiff5

If you have the "ERROR: One or more files failed the validity check!" problem, try cleaning your AUR cache first, and try again.

[ATTENTION] The new international version (11.1.0.9080) removed zh_CN support, login, and some other functions. If you still want full functions, or you want aarch64 support, you may need the Chinese version from https://linux.wps.cn here: https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/wps-office-cn

I split the /usr/share/mime/packages/wps-office-*.xml files to the wps-office-mime package to avoid mime issues. If you still want the mime files provided by wps-office itself, you can install the new mime package.

There is no official 32-bit package for version 11.1.0.8722, so I drop the support for i686 arch. For archlinux32 users you can create another wps-office package for 32-bit system yourself.

When you shut down wps-office, the wpsoffice process may still exist. You can do sudo chmod -x /usr/lib/office6/wpsoffice to fix it. But this might bring you problem with signing in.

About the software issues, you can go to the official feedback problem. I'm just a packager, I can not solve the software problem.

@Vistaus I had this exact problem. I installed this on my laptop with no issues. Then, I tried to install it on my desktop and got the same problem you have. I resolved it removing the wps-office package and starting fresh (git clone, makepkg, pacman -U). The second time it installed correctly. I am not sure why. The only thing I noticed is that the second time makepkg -s seemed to pick up open-ssl as a missing dependency and install it. Not sure that happened the first time. Anyway, try removing it and starting fresh.

For those who need document encryption feature or other feature enable only in Chinese version, consider using the package from https://wdl1.cache.wps.cn/wps/download/ep/Linux2019/8865/wps-office_11.1.0.8865_amd64.deb (from the official website: https://linux.wps.cn). It seems that they now distinguish the Chinese and non-Chinese version by different package, and the privacy/EULA isn't the same, LoL.

Can anyone help me, please?

Vistaus commented on 2019-09-06 20:29 (UTC)

I installed this package but it doesn't seem to install WPS correctly 'cause when I try to launch wps or wpp, the terminal outputs "wps does not exist!" (or wpp)

@Roken I highly recommend you to enable the en_US.UTF-8 during locale-gen as the Installation guide's example https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Installation_guide#Localization

Roken commented on 2019-09-03 19:53 (UTC)

You've hard (soft?) coded the locale into the PKGBUILD, which creates errors and failures.

Fixing for my locale allowed an error-free installation.

We don't all use US locales.
