I can confirm the issue is fixed - thanks a lot all!

For anyone that is also in need of the 5.3.9 version (e.g. to fix problems with the render backend) and does not want to use flatpak for yabridge compitability you can go to your account page on the bitwig website and download it as .deb-package. To install it download debtap from AUR (yay -S debtap), update once (sudo debtap -u) and use it to convert the deb to an arch package (debtap bitwig-studio-5.3.9.deb). You can now install the newly created .pkg-file with pacman (pacman -U <package_name>.pkg)

unfortunately, because i use a lot of windows plugins through yabridge, flatpak isn't exactly an option

abique commented on 2025-05-19 18:01 (UTC)

You have the option to run it in flatpak as well.

awesome! unfortunately, because i'm stuck on version 5.2 i don't think i'll be able to get it, unless i can ask support for an update really nicely

Thanks abique

I've got a fix, it'll be in 3.5.9.

abique commented on 2025-05-19 14:21 (UTC)

I believe that it is a bug in our source code, in the way we query extensions.

@abique

It could be, downgrading to a previous version fixes it on arch. I noticed that on artix (with openrc), it works without complaint on the latest vulkan lib version
