@ant0n et all, lets keep the comments here about packaging issues, general Brave usage issues should go in another forum to not clutter up this comment space. I'm deleting comments that have no relation to packaging. Grey areas like crashes that could be blamed on Arch can stay until proven otherwise, but things like how to configure Brave to handle popups or site X or whatever just don't belong here. Thanks for understanding.

@mixedCase Yup; running it with --force-device-scale-factor=2 fixes the problem for now.

@mixedCase Thanks; I'll have a look at it. And thank you for maintaining the package.

@Parintachin I don't support Manjaro. Regardless, sounds like a Google-upstream problem, but I suggest looking at this to see if it helps you override whatever the browser's doing: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/HiDPI#Chromium_/_Google_Chrome

Manjaro KDE. This package, like the Chrome package that dropped a few days ago, does not play well with high-dpi screens when scaling is chosen. It looks like the scaling factor is applied twice - everything is huge.

@chandradeepdey I don't have a desktop to test icons. Does this patch work for you without breaking the regular shortcut? https://gist.github.com/mixedCase/80471462a4135c7b307486f4a5d84869

When you install a web app, the following is added to $XDG_DATA_HOME/desktop-directories/chrome-apps.directory-

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Directory
Name=Brave Browser Apps
Icon=brave-desktop

Brave expects the icon to be named brave-desktop. This package puts it as brave, can this be changed?

@zerophase the --reflink option was used to speed up the packaging phase by doing a lightweight copy of the package contents to $pkgdir. It had no effect whatsoever on brave-bin performance. See cp(1) manual.

I have had no issues with brave lately, but I do not use it that much.
