I’ve updated it to the latest release and it seems to do the same here. You should also try with the Carla engine configured to ‘Single client’ under ‘Process mode’. Failing that, you could use the -git packages (carla-bridges-win64-git and carla-bridges-win32-git) – they work on my system (with the latest Carla compiled for Git).

Every time I try to load a windows vst, 64 or 32-bit, carla says that the bridge timed out or crashed. Is this package still good?

The package installs the binaries available on SourceForge. On 64-bit architectures, it installs both the win32 and the win64 bridges.
