This has been fixed upstream (https://github.com/falkTX/Carla/commit/38bcc13e2c8083a5d502a5636136165b51f6fd9d)and the package currently builds fine on an up to date Arch Linux system.

Looks at non-git version of carla (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/carla/), there is described problem that is related with this, I think. Carla cannot be built as a result of some GCC v6.1.1 update. I tried to downgrade gcc to v5.3.0-3 and compilation was successfull although there was some problem with linking against libc or something libc related. The bad thing for me is: I wanted to use it tommorow for some live action :)

@tkoham That log is missing the actual error message. It should be somewhere before the part that you pasted.

I cannot for the life of me get this or the stable version to install On an up-to-date system, using the default dependencies, I get the error: Makefile:80: recipe for target '../../../build/juce_audio_formats/Release/juce_audio_formats.cpp.o' failed make[1]: *** [../../../build/juce_audio_formats/Release/juce_audio_formats.cpp.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory '/tmp/yaourt-tmp-tyson/aur-carla-git/src/carla-git/source/modules/juce_audio_formats' Makefile:133: recipe for target '/tmp/yaourt-tmp-tyson/aur-carla-git/src/carla-git/build/modules/Release/juce_audio_formats.a' failed make: *** [/tmp/yaourt-tmp-tyson/aur-carla-git/src/carla-git/build/modules/Release/juce_audio_formats.a] Error 2 ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build(). shoudn't python-pyliblo be an optional dependency to run carla-control?

SpotlightKid commented on 2016-01-07 13:50 (UTC)

Just a heads up: I had to update libgig-svn and linuxsampler-svn (which I hadn't done in a while) to compile carla-git as of today otherwise I got undefined references at the linking stage.

Yes, libpng12 was build yesterday as a dependency of carla-git and I always build in a fresh extracted directory from the tarball. Culprit is EXPERIMENTAL_PLUGINS=true, removing it solved the issue. $ diff PKGBUILD PKGBUILD~ 4,5c4,5 < pkgver=1.9.6.r239.g876cf81 < pkgrel=2 --- > pkgver=1.9.6.r118.g3130631 > pkgrel=1 46c46 < make --- > make EXPERIMENTAL_PLUGINS=true 51c51 < make DESTDIR="$pkgdir/" PREFIX=/usr install --- > make EXPERIMENTAL_PLUGINS=true DESTDIR="$pkgdir/" PREFIX=/usr install
