Thanks @kflak, it looks like Code42 pulled all of the v6 download links again. I will have to contact their support and update when a new link is available. In the meantime you might consider installing 4.9.0 with the old PKGBUILD 1d87f23d1167
.

Getting a 404 clicking on the above download link from code42 and ERROR: Failure while downloading https://download.code42.com/installs/linux/install/CrashPlanSmb/CrashPlanSmb_6.7.0_Linux.tgz when trying to install...

CrashPlan released version 6.7.0 https://web-lbm-msp.crashplanpro.com/client/installers/CrashPlanSmb_6.7.0_1512021600670_4503_Linux.tgz
I updated PKGBUILD locally and ran makepkg -si and it worked for me (backup running currently). I do not know if I can submit a patch so I pasted the diff to pastebin. Note that I generated the sha256 sum from the crahsplan.tar.xz that I downloaded because I did not see any information online at crashplan: https://pastebin.com/mWTepVJH

I was unable to log in to my account using this version(6.6.0-6). I went back to commit 1d87f23d1167
as suggested by aaronm-cloudtek and now it works fine.

CrashPlan has pulled the 6.6.0 download link from their site. I contacted their support, they said: "We were having some issues with the 6 client which is why we removed the link from the console."
They did provide me a working link so I updated the package with it. 6.6.0 has been running flawlessly for me but for anyone having issues you might consider creating a new package using the old 4.9.0 PKGBUILD available here: 1d87f23d1167

I figured it out. I uninstalled and completely removed the crashplan directory (/opt/crashplan) and then I adopted and it seems to be working. This was an upgrade from home to pro, so I think some of the settings were not in agreement. Clearing the cache did not help, but starting from scratch did. Thanks.

@fryfrog thanks that did it. I suppose i was expecting it to automatically start that service for me. When I ran the status command you gave me it told me it was dead, i then ran sudo systemctl start crashplan-pro
, started the crashplan-pro desktop app, it then let me log in, and i'm now backing things up :D So thanks for that.

yes @fryfrog, the service is up and running. Before it was running I had skela's error message. Now that is running I get the login screen. I just cant get past that screen. I have filed a ticket with crashplan, so I will see how much they can help me in arch land.

@skela, @jono: Did you make sure the crashplan-pro service is actually started? sudo systemctl status crashplan-pro
.

@gadicc, I added some pacman hooks to handle setting/unsetting the immutable flag:
