Just a question? Why did u make freetype2 also a hard dependency for downgrading? Crossover does not depend on it and for me it was working just fine with the latest version... Crossover only has issues with lib32-freetype2... And also on that note, did you check the function of this latest Crossover update with latest lib32-freetype2? Maybe they fixed the issue - they were looking into it after all and hence the new version?

Downgrade to lib32-freetype2=2.8 solves the problem. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/downgrading_packages

@roadrunner building this from yaourt now fails: "==> Building and installing package ==> Install or build missing dependencies for crossover: error: target not found: lib32-freetype2<2.8.1"" Just saying.

Fixed two issues with 16.2.5-2: * post-install updates the wineserver link. This fixes crossover on i686. * Added version<2.8.1 to freetype2 dependency as crossover is incompatible with freetype2-2.8.1.

Their linux support email commented back...so at least they know so far. I am checking on the status today via email.

Can confirm that the downgrade works. I sent an email to crossover linux support. Someone needs to file a bug. Tried to file a bug. They are not accepting them, will have to see what linux support says.

Some apps from crossover stopped working I had many mistakes like this: wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000004 at address 0x7ea48dde (thread 0028), starting debugger... winedbg: Internal crash at 0x7e72bdde TO solve the problem I downgraded lib32-freetype2 to lib32-freetype2-2.7.1-2 and it resumed working

Office 2007 no longer opens correctly after packages updates. Powerpoint window loads for a few seconds and then crashes, no error message Word opens but crashes when I try to open a file (guessing dialog fails to open) I don't see anything in dmesg or journalctl. Wild guess looks like a library update broke wine or a library went missing. Anyone else seeing the same?
