When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

Maybe. But. If using my own words and not even their official phrasing, it would sound more like it's tantamount to just an opinion. I've always liked how the thing stands on its own merit.

Perhaps it is time to change the summary? I don't believe "attempt" is valid any longer. Without getting creative it could be shortened to: A safe, fast, and stable browser developed by Google (Stable Channel)

:: google-chrome package(s) failed to install. :: ensure package version does not mismatch between .SRCINFO and PKGBUILD :: ensure package name has a VCS suffix if this is a devel package

For everybody struggling with the installation of the newest update that use a caching AUR helper like 'pacaur'. You need to delete the repository-folder from the cache because eula_text.html was is now part of the repository but also still exists in an untracked version in your local cache. For 'pacaur': 'rm -rf ~/.cache/pacaur/google-chrome'

Seems there's some of those around: - https://lists.gt.net/clamav/users/57364 - http://forums.clamwin.com/viewtopic.php?t=4203 - https://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?t=129646 If you reinstall and get the same thing, it's almost surely a false positive.

Uhhh. Yea, I rather would, because that one will be deleted: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/google-chrome-cn/. You need to have something notable change in the package itself to create a separate one. Different source is not enough. :( E: Added.

Shouldn't have anything to do with package signing. I just updated the package.
