When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

@solus667, check first also, if it's updated.

Anyone else who would not like to bother themselves with the Pinned Comments?

@Det, I'm getting the following validation error: [musikolo@MyPc google-chrome]$ makepkg -rs ==> Making package: google-chrome 57.0.2987.98-1 (jue mar 16 22:12:57 CDT 2017) ==> Checking runtime dependencies... ==> Checking buildtime dependencies... ==> Retrieving sources... -> Downloading google-chrome-stable_57.0.2987.98_amd64.deb... --2017-03-16 22:12:57-- https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb Loaded CA certificate '/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt' Resolving dl.google.com... 173.194.219.93, 173.194.219.91, 173.194.219.190, ... Very weird the checksum doesn't match up! Could you please review to confirm what's wrong? Thank you!

Anyone got an issue loading their user profile after latest update? :( Edit: nevermind, after starting chrome with --disable-extensions, then without again, it loaded fine again. Weird.

After last update on every start I need to set it as a default browser, even if it is. Plasma5, tried to reset Chrome and confirmed it as a default browser.

@Det: yeah, I followed the updates on the bug report. Glad they managed to fix it. :)

Don't believe so. Is chrome crashing for you?
