When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

Netflix works fine here too but fonts and the Netflix gui are way too big. I shall look into DPI settings I think.

@Det I just upgraded to Version 52.0.2743.82 (64-bit) and Netflix works fine... I seem to get as high quality video as I ever did.

Strangely one day after I've updated again and now it's running fine.

Font sizes in tabs and menus in Version 52.0.2743.82 (64-bit) are way too big!

Is anyone having issues with Chrome forgetting computers that have logged into Google accounts with it?

I am noticing that youtube videos are playing but I am getting a blank screen.

Since pacman introduced hooks, running update-desktop-database from the .install file is no longer necessary.

I ran the makepkg but everything worked ok. I'm using the same kernel version. It is associated with the sandbox. The only help I found was to use the --no-sandbox flag. But that seems an insecure route.

4.5.3 but I was having the same issue on 4.5.2

What kernel version are you running?
