When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

Also, as long as you don't clear your cache, they can be found in: /var/cache/pacman/pkg/.

also here: http://ftp.ubuntu-tw.org/mirror/deepin/pool/universe/g/google-chrome-stable/ definitely an issue with upstream.

Yeah, they're all available in: http://mirror.pcbeta.com/google/chrome/deb/pool/main/g/google-chrome-stable/ See, if that helps.

Does anyone have an older .deb kicking around? Google only has stable-current on the server, and I'd like to temporarily downgrade.

So version 42 worked flawlessly with my touchscreen, and all touch events were automatically enabled, but with 43 (and prior to 42) I am back to touch functionality not being enabled unless chrome is launched with touch. What happened lol?

If it helps, the .desktop file shows the correct icon, it looks fine in the menu and on the panel. It's just the taskbar icon that doesn't pick up.

madscience commented on 2015-05-19 18:41 (UTC)

That didn't work, unfortunately. I commented out the Version=1.0 line, ran those two commands and then also tried logout/login for good measure.

Remove the "Version" line from the .desktop (/usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop).
