Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

It crashes when I move that file away.

_Might_ be caused by the Intel-intended 'libGL.so.1', which is supposed to make GE even start up. You can try removing it from "/opt/google/earth/free/" and see if it helps. If it does, I'm going to sigh - and not for relief.

Just updated to GE 6.1.0.5001-3, and I'm having really bad flicker problems. Anyone have any idea for cause/fix? I'm running XFCE, using an Intel graphics card. (Xorg.0.log reports it as "Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+)".)

Can't because it's not 64-bit. Just bin-32.

dgbaley27 commented on 2011-12-29 23:56 (UTC)

Are you going to switch over to the 64bit binary which is now available?

kolombo commented on 2011-12-27 15:14 (UTC)

:) In my case yes.

Det commented on 2011-12-27 15:13 (UTC)

You guys make my life so hard. Does this work?

kolombo commented on 2011-12-27 13:38 (UTC)

Det, Could you please include this `http://librarian.launchpad.net/7037027/libGL.so.1` lib in your package ? This will make Intel card users life much easier. lib32-libgl (7.11.2-2) didn't work for me.

Yeah. I already tried all these. Back in the GE5 days it helped, but not now with GE6 :(
