I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

You're probably not using Windows. This one's from Arch: http://i.imgur.com/5h7CE.jpg

det, can you post a screenshot of your google earth?

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-12-10 16:57 (UTC)

I really envy you, I have this problem for over a year now :(

Det commented on 2011-12-10 16:37 (UTC)

Well that's interesting because it helped with me. In fact, whenever I change the font with 'qtconfig' it changes in Google Earth as well, without even re-logging.

Det, I did all that, tried many things, for the life of me, I can't figure it out. Fonts just look ugly in GE here. At least I can use it, I just gave up on that problem :( This is how it looks: http://content.wuala.com/contents/SanskritFritz/Public/2011-01-04-203520_1440x900_scrot.png?dl=1 This screenshot was taken at least a year ago, I used KDE back then, now I use Openbox or Compiz, GE look has not changed since.
