I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Google Earth for linux seems to be a pile of shit: http://bit.ly/b04zhG - please star the linux crash issues so that the developers will notice Just tried the windows version (13mb instead of 30mb!) in wine and it works perfectly.

Google updates binary to 5.2.1.1588 version but it crashes after runs. anthonio ~ $ googleearth Google Earth has caught signal 11. We apologize for the inconvenience, but Google Earth has crashed. This is a bug in the program, and should never happen under normal circumstances. A bug report and debugging data have been written to this text file: /home/anthonio/.googleearth/crashlogs/crashlog-4c83a813. Please include this file if you submit a bug report to Google.
