Will not build with vulkan-headers-1:1.3.240-1. Downgrade to vulkan-headers-1:1.3.235-1 works.

build fails with "python2" as compulsory make-dependency . But build succeeds with "python2" replaced by "python" in BUILD File

FabioLolix: I'm not sure what the issue is, the package builds successfully on a clean test environment?

python2 is not needed since v1.3.0 (https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-community/commit/e69fa923e9f0b98dbc057cf5d36287e7de833697), if you build in clean chroot can spot these things and you should since it is good packaging practice alongside analyzing builded packages with namcap

btw dependens don't have to be also makedepends (like x264 at first sight), dbus-glib and libnotify are no longer needed

muddy79: python2 is the dependency listed on https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.5.0/developer/install-dependencies-arch.html

Hello, for ensuring needed depends and makedepends are met please build in a clean chroot; for convenience using extra-x86_64-build from devtools package https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_clean_chroot (this will also analyze the builded package with namcap)

Is there any specific reason to use python2 as a dependency? It seems I was able to build the package using python 3 (after changing PKGBUILD to depend on python instead of python2).

Abzie commented on 2022-10-14 18:29 (UTC)

Updated the PKGBUILD, moving numactl from makedepends to an actual dependency.

From my testing, archkde_combo was correct and will not open with numactl package removed so now made the package an explicit dependency. Thank you archkde_combo!

numactl is available from the extra repo: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/numactl/

" handbrake-nvenc " package misses an important dependency " numactl " , Without it Handbrake does not even opens on
