In 2015 author of this library stopped providing new versions for free. Now only version 2.5.3 is available for free (under the BSD license). I got version 2.8.0 while it was provided under the BSD license and continue to provide it under that license.

I think that's not a good practice pointing sources to dropbox...

Is there any idea to bypass this 2-8 version and to come back to the 2-7 that had apparently no licensing issue ?

Licensing may change. Notice on the site reads: The downloads are currently not available, because we consider a new licensing scheme for the JGoodies Common, Binding, Forms, Looks, and Validation. At the moment these libraries ship only with the commercial products, the JGoodies Swing Suite and the JGoodies Smart Client. We maintain and further improve the JGoodies libraries and plan to support Java 8 as well as Java 9. And we’re in the process of adding support for new OS versions and modern visual styles e.g. Windows 10. But it seems that we may need to charge for updates. Ideally, we’d continue to ship library updates at no charge, with full sources, and under the very relaxed terms of the BSD open source license.
