Can't build this Software due to following error:

htmsocket.c:48:10: fatal error: rpc/rpc.h: file or directory not found
 #include <rpc/rpc.h>

I even tried to make a symbolic link from /usr/include/tirpc/rpc/rpc.h to /usr/include/rpc/rpc.h still no luck.

Updated to 2.8.9

  • Removed the PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/ffmpeg2.8/pkgconfig line

From the LiVES site: A serious data corruption issue was discovered in LiVES version 2.8.8 (released 10 March 2018). This has now been fixed in version 2.8.9

In case any Sets were opened using version 2.8.8, you will need to follow the procedure outlined here to recover those Sets. Open your lives project directory in a file browser. (Default is livesprojects in your home directory). Inside this you will see the various set directories. If you reloaded a set with 2.8.8 it may be corrupted. So check each set directory that could be affected. Let's say the set is called "foo". There will be a /foo directory in the lives projects directory. Click on the foo directory to open it. Inside there will be a directory called "clips" and there may be some other directories with names like "clips12345678" or "clipsclips12345678". what you need to do is select all the directories beginning with "clips..." but NOT the "clips" directory itself. Then cut these directories and paste them into the "clips" directory (the one without a number after it). Having done this, navigate to the clips directory. There you should see all the subdirectories you just pasted with names like "clips12345678". The next step is to rename each of these subdirectories so that only the numeric part remains. So "clips12345678" would be renamed "12345678". Finally, having done that return to the top directory for the set. In our example that would be "foo" in the lives projects directory. Here you should see a file called "order". You need to edit this. If there are entries in it like: foo/clips12345678 then edit this so it looks like: foo/clips/12345678 Once you have edited all the lines, save the order file. You can now reload the clip set as normal.

Cannot find LiVES-1.8.8.tar.bz2 because its been updated on their site to 1.8.9.

  • Replace ffmpeg2.8 dependency with ffmpeg
  • Add glu and schroedinger to the depends array

ffmpeg2.8 is removed from the repositories lives compiles with current ffmpeg... change ffmpeg2.8 to ffmpeg and let the tests begin
