I will maintain this until it stops working, but this package should be considered "legacy" and the new Reference Manager (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mendeley-reference-manager) preferred.

To avoid crashs when opening PDF's, and hangout on exit install mendeleydesktop-bundled which packages Qt provided by the upstream.

@brittyazel for me behaviour is exactly the same. The difference between my log an yours is: QXcbIntegration: Cannot create platform OpenGL context, neither GLX nor EGL are enabled Maybe this is your cuplprit? Did you enabled glx/egl in kwin?

Per my below comment, mendeleydesktop-dev in the AUR seems to work ok. One difference that I notice is that the -dev package only depends on qt5-webengine, with the rest of the dependencies being implicit. Further, the maintainer of that package said "The problem seems to be that mendeley is compiled against qt5webengine 5.5 and while archlinux is at 5.7." Hope this helps

@xgdgsc The version was not bumped to pkgrel=3 when you changed the md5sum values, thus anyone who had tried updating with the old md5sum values with pacaur has an old version in their cache with the wrong md5sums. If you are getting errors that state that the validity check failed with pacaur, delete the mendeleydesktop entry out of .cache/pacaur and try again.

<deleted-account> commented on 2016-07-29 23:52 (UTC)

When I try to install using pacaur, I get a validity check error; however, when I download the makepkg manually, it installs just fine. Any idea what is going on?

Hey guys, I'm using the numix-circle icon theme, and for some reason once mendeley is running it no longer uses the nice themed icon, but rather falls back to the default icon. Any thoughts?

@slartibarfast, I also had problems with the md5 sum. What I did was download the latest file, compute the md5sum and edit the PKGBUILD with the correct md5sum.

Hello. I'm getting problem checking the md5. Is it just me?
