There are missing 'wheel' dependencies: setuptools_scm>=7 numpy<2.3,>=2.0.0rc1
It appears setuptools_scm requires pip, which makes this package unusable for those relying on AUR only. If I am wrong, please explain.

They are a lot of other changes that should be made though. A lot of *depends have changed. Not sure we still need to sed shebangs, and the check function needs to be simplified. The pkgver should use annotated tags.

You should move depends/optdepends from package to the beginning of the PKGBUILD now that py2 is gone.
