I would recommend splitting powerline and powerline font solution install since fontconfig isn't a universal method. Btw I am having uberben's error even though I don't have airline. I had it once but removed it.

Beware that you may encounter errors if you have installed other powerline fontconfig packages before this.

Also, this package cannot be installed with Aura, pacaur, or spinach. Please fix this.

After the latest update I keep having this error chown: cannot access '/var/cache/pacman/pkg/python2-powerline-git20032/python2-powerline-git': No such file or directory

Ah, I see. Anyways, as a temporary workaround you can delete /usr/share/vim/vimfiles/plugin/powerline.vim to disable Powerline globally.
