I accidentally deleted my comment yesterday. I said that the installation fails with the following error:

cp: cannot create regular file '/home/user/.cache/yay/rescached-git/pkg/rescached-git/usr/share/man/man1/': Not a directory
make: *** [Makefile:104: install] Error 1

@TX1683 I will do it at the next big release. Thanks for the feedback.

@astier I will look at it tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback.

@shulhan, I think that you should remove conflict with another DNS servers. Rescached allows specifying on which address and port number it listens, as well as other DNS servers so there is no conflict really. Also, removing dnsmasq resulting in failure when you try to start libvirt virtual network.

@Dreit,

Thanks for the information. I will update the dependency on the next release.

asciidoctor --backend manpage README.adoc

make: asciidoctor: Command not found

make: *** [Makefile:71: rescached.1.gz] Error 127

I had to install asciidoctor, which is not listed in dependency list, then everything works fine.

edit: on second computer I had to also install golangci-lint-bin package (I was getting error from line 54 and then 47 in makefile)

It was suppose to update the configuration due to major upgrade. I will push the new fix.

The postinstall script deletes user configuration, why is that ? Configuration is deleted from disk after every upgrade
