The GUI label is intentionally 2.2.4, this is related to it being a Linux-only launcher update, sorry if this causes any confusion

Note: It is important to keep PGP signature verification enabled, because this PKGBUILD does not verify sha256sums due to Jagex frequently releasing rebuilds with the same version number.

Don't forget to import the Jagex PGP key if installing for the first time:

gpg --keyserver hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key AAC9264309E4D717441DB9527373B12CE03BEB4B

Ya it's a full URL I try not to give the full URL here as I'm afraid someone might use it to gain entry into my account.

@fusion809: Does it *literally* say "https://..." with the dots and all, or is it a proper URL like "https://facebook.com/?"

This was working for me in the past but recently I just get a black screen on load. I can't seem to find a way to debug the client--anyone have any ideas? I've tried just removing the ~/Jagex directory with no results.

RuneScape launcher fails to open Facebook/Google+ links for verification giving a malformed socket error and at the command line: xdg-open: no method available for opening '...' I have tried adding a file called https.xml to ~/.local/share/mime/packages with the contents: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <mime-info xmlns="http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/shared-mime-info"> <mime-type type="x-scheme-handler/https"> <comment>foo file</comment> <icon name="x-scheme-handler/https"/> <glob-deleteall/> <glob pattern="https://*"/> </mime-type> </mime-info> running `update-mime-database ~/.local/share/mime && xdg-mime default firefox-nightly.desktop x-scheme-handler/https` (this attempt to fix the problem is based on the ArchWiki article https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Default_applications) but still I'm getting the same error. Even when I run: xdg-open 'https://...' from the command-line I get the aforementioned command-line error. Oddly this problem doesn't happen when I install and then run RS using its Flatpak in Flathub.

D'oh. I forgot to actually test with --skippgpcheck.

I ran into the error "ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!" to bypass this I used "makepkg -g >> PKGBUILD" to regenerate the checksum for source.

A kind of hacky "solution" for hiding the launcher window but not game window automagically in i3 is to add the following line to ~/.i3/config: for_window [class="Runescape" instance="runescape"] move scratchpad Similar "solutions" should exist for other WMs.
