Receiving the following error when building. Does not build.

/usr/bin/ld: warning: libpython3.6m.so.1.0, needed by /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/8.2.0/../../../../lib/libPythonQt-Qt5-Python3.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)

@yair Thanks for the report.

I've updated the package to use Python 2 instead, until the issue is solved.

broken upstream

TLDR dont update if you updated to python 3.7

@Naatan I can't do anything about issues with the AUR web interface itself, however it should be temporary. I just built the package with no problems.

@amadej I can't reproduce, looks like you compiled against older libraries, currently only Python 3.6 is available in the repository, and it seems that PythonQt is actually the one that has the issue. Please follow these steps: - Upgrade your system (pacman -Syyu) - Rebuild PythonQt [1] - Rebuild ScreenCloud (this) - Post the link of the pastebin [2] where I can see the full output ___ [1]: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pythonqt/ [2]: https://pastebin.osuosl.org/

libpython3.5m.so.1.0 mnissing error ... [100%] Linking CXX executable screencloud /usr/bin/ld: warning: libpython3.5m.so.1.0, needed by /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/6.3.1/../../../../lib/libPythonQt.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link) /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/6.3.1/../../../../lib/libPythonQt.so: undefined reference to `PyType_IsSubtype' /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/6.3.1/../../../../lib/libPythonQt.so: undefined reference to `PyExc_RuntimeError' /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/6.3.1/../../../../lib/libPy.... ... The issue can be resolved by # ln -s /usr/lib/libpython3.so /usr/lib/libpython3.5m.so.1.0 however, I do not really like such "tactics" for everyday tools

@AlfredoRamos Oh, well... This is sad... :-/ But thank you for the reply anyway. :)

AlfredoRamos commented on 2016-10-31 18:15 (UTC)

@Bermond Thanks but I'm already aware of that, and as you said it's a recomendation, not a standard. The way it is generated right now doesn't generate problems, so for the moment I'm not planing to change that.

The revision number in pkgver is not preceded by the delimiter 'r'. Please consider changing this to make it output as recommended by the Wiki. According to the Wiki this little change is important. For this, you could use: git describe --long --tags | sed 's/^v//;s/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g' Output: 1.3.1.r0.g54cd0c3 Wiki reference: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines#The_pkgver.28.29_function
