As subsurface changed their release strategy to weekly builds ^1 and provides AppImages, this AUR package became useless.

I requested a merge with subsurface-git, but you can also use the AppImage version if you want.

Thanks for the time we had with this package, but all good things have to end somedays;-p

Compilation is failing with:

I would suggest removing qt5-webkit from the dependencies. It's now in the AUR it seems, and very time consuming to build. It's only for manual and printing support.

vesath commented on 2022-11-22 19:08 (UTC)

The qt5-webkit package has been dropped from the official repo so subsurface-git is now built without printing support and in-app manual. We're not migrating to Qt6 because QtLocation has yet to be ported to it, which would mean no maps in subsurface...

@imrejonk: the problem seems to occur because depends relies on libgit2.so while libgit2 should be enough enable updates. On every update of libgit2, libgit2.so gets changed, which may cause the "bug" in pacman.

ohli commented on 2022-09-04 09:00 (UTC)

@lmartinez-mirror: no, as subsurface-libdc has no other external deps, feel free to go on.

Strange, I had to remove the subsurface package before I could update my system. Afterwards I could reinstall subsurface just fine. Maybe I've hit a bug in pacman?

lmartinez-mirror commented on 2022-08-29 03:41 (UTC)

Would anyone be opposed to merging subsurface-libdc into this package?

lmartinez-mirror commented on 2022-08-28 17:48 (UTC)

I can take a look whenever I have time, but I'm willing to bet it's because the makedepends list libgit2 specifically while depends lists libgit2.so the shared object.

I'm trying to update my installed packages with 'pacman -Syu' but somehow this package prevents that:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies) :: installing libgit2 (1:1.5.0-1) breaks dependency 'libgit2.so=1.4-64' required by subsurface

I can't find any reference to that specific libgit2 version in subsurface's PKGBUILD. Anyone know what's going on?
