@Parker8283 and @sr98vn this could be related to the issue with setuptools that @Parker8283 identified. That said, I've been having this package build daily with no issue, and it's using python-setuptools 1:67.3.0-1 https://github.com/Eeems/repo.eeems.codes/actions/runs/4208706435/jobs/7305093989#step:9:77
If you just need an updated build of the package for now, you can get the package from my repo if you trust my build mechanism. You can also try building it yourself with the container that I'm building with. You can find the Dockerfiles here: https://github.com/Eeems/images

I am also running into the same issue as @sr98vn. Deleting my yay cache for the package first still does not fix it. This might be related up SetupTools issue #3452?

@electric_blue Thanks for the suggestion, but it still isn't working for me after running
sudo systemctl restart reflector.service
. I even tried cloning the git repo and runningmakepkg -si
locally just to confirm it wasn't an issue withyay
. Also tried reinstalling all python dependent packages withyay -S $(yay -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.10)
, still doesn't work.electric_blue commented on 2023-02-17 19:02 (UTC)
@sr98vn If you use reflector try rerunning it or otherwise refreshing your mirrorlist. I had this problem and this fixed it, it looks like the mirrors I was using were missing some updates.

@sr98vn: It builds fine in a clean chroot.

I'm getting the following error when building 20.04.75-1

Package needs python-setuptools as makedepends, otherwise fails to build in clean chroot.

Developer key for Jeremy Soller isn't in key servers that I had listed; but is available on his site. downloading and importing from that key file worked.
yochananmarqos commented on 2022-01-17 22:22 (UTC)
@ArchFae: It needs to be added to your personal keyring, not the system keyring. Do not use
sudo
. This is not the place to troubleshoot, please create a Arch Forum topic instead if you need futher assistance. You could add the default keyserver to your
~/.gnupg/gpg.conf
, that's what I do:ArchFae commented on 2022-01-17 22:14 (UTC)
The errors I'm getting suggests otherwise:
gpg --list-keys --fingerprint D3FB3AF9711C1CD12639C9F587F211AF2BE4C2FE gpg: error reading key: No public key
and using the the Arch method for unofficial key import:
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys D3FB3AF9711C1CD12639C9F587F211AF2BE4C2FE gpg: keyserver receive failed: No name
