@lucipher, I have a bonx8 as well. After creating /etc/system76-daemon.json with: { "vendor": "System76, Inc", "model": "bonx8" } and running system76-driver-cli, it works fine.

@lucipher Based on posted data, I see that driver do not detect your laptop as System76 machine and do not activate features. Can you please try with latest version 14.04.12 and report if issue persists.

Update on previous post! pkgver=14.04.12 sha1sums= {'bb22be9136c16048b5f5043d3423975d34b4bc48' .... .... }

current url (14.04.10.tar.gz) is throwing a 404 error. PKGBUILD needs to be updated with latest build pkgver=14.04.12 sha1sums={new sha1sum for 14.04.12] I can't find on launchpad where they show the sha1sums otherwise I would have included that information as well.

Hi @ava1ar, thanks for the driver. I'm having a trouble when trying to use it (Bonobo extreme bonx8), when i run "sudo system76-driver": http://i.imgur.com/Q66kHZI.png ** The output of system76-driver-cli: sudo system76-driver-cli INFO product_version: 'bonx8' INFO wifi_pm_disable: Improve WiFi performance on Battery WARNING Skipping 'wifi_pm_disable' as it was already applied ** System76 service is running: sudo systemctl -l | grep system76 system76.service loaded active running System76 driver ** The "sudo systemctl -l status system76.service" output: ● system76.service - System76 driver Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/system76.service; enabled) Active: active (running) since mié 2014-11-19 13:39:58 CST; 30min ago Main PID: 591 (python) CGroup: /system.slice/system76.service └─591 /usr/bin/python /usr/lib/system76-driver/system76-daemon nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: Traceback (most recent call last): nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/system76driver/daemon.py", line 301, in on_timeout nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: self.update() nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/system76driver/daemon.py", line 313, in update nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: self.save(brightness) nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/system76driver/daemon.py", line 283, in save nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: save_json_conf(self.saved_file, conf) nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/system76driver/daemon.py", line 104, in save_json_conf nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: fp = open(tmp, 'w') nov 19 13:40:30 system76 python[591]: FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/system76-driver/brightness.json.tmp' ** The "uname -a" output: Linux system76 3.14.21-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Oct 11 09:28:11 UTC 2014 x86_64 GNU/Linux Thanks ins advance, I'll be pleased to provide you with any other information.

I made pm-utils optional dependency again, since it is not required for all models. I just start using TLP, which conflicts with pm-utils and don't have pm-utils in the system anymore. Please report laptop models, which require pm-utils for this package to work - I will update the readme to mention this. Thanks.

Updated to 14.04.9

- one more update with fix for running system76-driver from menu (via Polkit, which is optional dependency now)
