@simona: Yes, it does accept your old profile. Just start Thunderbird with thunderbird -p and select it.

@simona I had this as well, just go and copy the content of the "old" profile folder to the newly created one (all in ~/.thunderbird )

I installed this but lose link with old profile with all my mail. Hits on how re-link?

I opened a bug on official Arch repos. If this does not get answered soon I might test the update here in AUR...

Yeah, I would like to change that. Might look into either build a package for extra or at least keep this one updated. Not sure I have enough knowledge for all...but will have a look

I say it because seems not being interest. in thunderbird extra is 68.12, here 78.2 why always old versions?
