Just a heads up that ahmubashshir will be updating this package per commit as per regular VCS package standards, so this means this package will get updates a lot more often.

If that isn't your sort of thing then I suggest you move over to the stable version of this package.

@mihalea what is your $XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP?

mihalea commented on 2019-11-17 06:46 (UTC)

None of the .desktop files show up in rofi unless I comment out "OnlyShowIn"

@SolarAquarion Thanks for the heads up! Unfortunately I've been unable to keep up with the nuts and bolts of the development for a while and I hadn't even realized they added a submodule.

Normally I'd be pretty wary about updating a submodule when upstream links to a specific commit but since we're talking about a simple dataset that benefits from being the latest version it's indeed a good call.

I think you need to add "git submodule update --init --recursive" as a prepare function

Please add the frontend type somewhere to the .desktop files where it's actually visible (like in the name). Using rofi as my launcher with rofi -show drun, I get both GTK and Qt entries as "Trackma" and they are indistinguishable.

@zephx I kept python-pillow an optional dependency in case people only wanted to use the CLI or curses frontends, which don't require that module. This unfortunately means that when using the GUI frontends you do need to install this manually, but saves you a lot of cruft packages that would otherwise be installed for parts you don't use. It seems that you were trying to run trackma-gtk, in which case things worked as intended, but if you got this error during install or when simply running trackma, let me know.

Seems like python-pillow became a required dependency on python3.6 trackma-gtk.desktop[10310]: pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'Pillow' distribution was not found and is required by the application

Sorry, I use QT myself, and completely forgot to test the gtk UI after the big change to Python3 that initially needed gobject, since the Changelog didn't mention any GTK changes. I'm getting the same error and it presumably has something to do with https://github.com/z411/trackma/commit/18ca09c576e6f383b34525b90e7b8c4bd4e43d6d I have no idea what causes this though. For some reason setuptools can't find the 'gi' package from python-gobject, even though it shows up using setuptools' own find_package() function. Unfortunately I won't be able to update the PKGBUILD until probably tomorrow, or file a bug report. A quick workaround for now is to manually remove gi from "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/Trackma-0.6.1-py3.5.egg-info/requires.txt" for now.

Getting this error when starting trackma-gtk: pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'gi' distribution was not found and is required by the application I have cairo and gobject installed. Am I missing something or is this an upstream bug?

Updated! Removed the inotifyx dependency, since that isn't available in python3 so we're falling back on lsof for now. See https://github.com/z411/trackma/issues/218 for updates.
