I recommend disabling Vuze autoupdate. In order to do so: 1- Go to Tools>Options>Interface>Start and uncheck all checkboxes in it; 2- Go to Tools>Options>Plugins>Plugin Update and uncheck the only checkbox.

Ok, but I'm still not sure whether you have the 5.7.4.0 or not? If not, you can just update the package. No need to uninstall anything.

@Det it happened automaticly. It wanted to update itself the first time I started it. And the error pop up had a link, which I followed: http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Failed_Update#Linux.2FUnix_notes. I think I just uninstall and try it again.

You shouldn't use the builtin updater. Use makepkg or an AUR tool (packer, yaourt, etc.) and update the _package_ the same way you installed it in the first place. If you insist, you'd need to run the thing as root or chmod/chown the install dir (hacky, and also, why then use a package in the first place?). I don't know which Wiki are you talking about.

@Det I just installed this and it tried to update itself complaining not to have write access to opt. closing the software caused a endless loop of restarts. Had to kill it and update manualy like I found in the wiki
