martinbaselier, your PKGBUILD seems to have a syntax error : /tmp/yaourt-tmp-hellpe/aur-xfce4-places-plugin/./tmp.wy4Qwq2vQN: line 28: Erreur de syntaxe près du symbole inattendu « then » Impossible de lire le PKGBUILD de xfce4-places-plugin

I created a quick and dirty PKGBUILD which will compile and run on xfce 4.8. http://aur.pastebin.com/JTD7aS7S Just choose to edit the PKGBUILD and copy and paste the version from pastebin. It won't win a beauty price, but it works.

it compiles with git version (http://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-places-plugin) and patch attached here: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5754

This package depends on exo-0.3 which is no longer use by xfce 4.8, so it won't work unless rewritten/patched. I've tried compiling it with exo-0.6 by creating a symlink /usr/lib/pkgconfig/ to exo-1.pc, but it will give a compiling error: xfce4_places_plugin-support.o: In function `places_load_file_browser': support.c:(.text+0x14f): undefined reference to `exo_url_show'
