Thank you @ChrisLane, did wonders! Edited the PKGBUILD with the paru --fm reinstalling.

Don't forget to add a command to prepare() to apply the patch.

Missed that this is one of the packages that tries to automatically apply patches

As an alternative to @Zeben's suggestion that may not build latest master, you can instead apply the patch in the PKGBUILD by updating your source and b2sums to the following:

source=(
  'mesa::git+https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa.git#branch=main'
  LICENSE
  'https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/29275.patch'
)
b2sums=('SKIP'
        'cc60238726b35133b5b729fb4ed1e76e04136588533615d84b4a54656d5b41727d5e7ff06ef4de3eb102eed6669d6c5c5cb8ac9fbdf6fc25aa477877c5c3ba87'
        '9c2112e513dfff173f680827764228b07ea9b2fef7c4c63b6287c55b1cb0b4a6ef37a1596dd0bf9a200f3b93c67b27253dd36194d4c73c127fff5bcb35263c6b'
)

This adds the patch for the merge request @Zeben mentioned (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/29275) and the sum for the current version of that patch file.

@zangoku @z3n there is an opened MR related to this issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/11178 If you want to build the latest working mesa build, you can edit your PKDBUILD and switch to the commit where this issue has been fixed, or wait until the MR is merged into the main branch.

TL;DR: vim PKGBUILD

source=(
    'mesa::git+https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa.git#commit=34fa84a06de74cfde95faf3e4a0d30922d08601d'
    'LICENSE'
)
makepkg -si

P.S. There is also a workaround for the mesa-git package which also resolves this issue by another way: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mesa-git#comment-973308

Same error won't build for me:

I have a problem for a few days:

probably building rusticl

src/gallium/frontends/rusticl/rusticl_mesa_bindings.c:1:10: fatal error: ../mesa/src/gallium/frontends/rusticl/rusticl_mesa_bindings.h: No such file or directory

Pls remove all the 'replaces' entries. This should not be used on AUR in general, and this git package would and should never replace any stable packages.

@MarsSeed you are correct that this is the guidance for AUR packages (see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#replaces) but please don't misuse the "Flag as out-of-date" feature. Your request is what the comments section and maintainer email addresses in the PKGBUILD are for.

EDIT 4/29/24

When building in clean chroot I was getting this error: mesa/meson.build:843: WARNING: add_languages is missing native:, assuming languages are wanted for both host and build. etc etc

mesa/meson.build:948:2: ERROR: Problem encountered: Python (3.x) mako module >= 0.8.0 required to build mesa. etc etc

For Fix Added a dependency between lines 66/67 in PKGBUILD: 'python-setuptools'

Builds in chroot now. Also have to add this dependency to the lib32 version as well.

After I updated this package to the latest version. I can't run Apex Legends stuck on blackscreen loading. one week before the update from the current comment date, the game runs very smoothly
