@bigolewannabe the most recent release is 1.5.33 (https://github.com/balena-io/etcher/tags), what version do you have installed?

@gin078 thank you very much I got it to update it now. Had to deinstall npm with pacman then delete
/usr/lib/node-modules/npm
then install npm with pacman again. Problem is the mixture of local and global of npm.gin078 commented on 2019-05-06 05:22 (UTC) (edited on 2019-05-06 08:31 (UTC) by gin078)
@timhs I think you may need to clean up all the build artifacts and try again. Can you try building with
makepkg -C
to clean up$srcdir
before building?timhs commented on 2019-05-05 18:27 (UTC) (edited on 2019-05-05 18:28 (UTC) by timhs)
I get this error while updating
Cannot find module 'readable-stream/transform'
If I try#npm update -g
I get the same error?haavard commented on 2019-04-14 20:28 (UTC)
I'm going to disown this package. Upstream is too tied to specific Electron versions, and building against system Electron requires a lot of work. On top of this, they keep changing up their build system, so every update requires a new workaround. With the Electron/Node ecosystem being what it is, building this from source just isn't a good fit. Try
etcher-bin

Now it doesn't even work properly. https://i.imgur.com/3FsLzfd.png
I know I could apply the fixes to the PKGBUILD myself, but I think it's best for the maintainer to step it up.

dylanmtaylor: it doesn't.

Upstream seems to be on electron 4, not sure why this requires electron 2

The submodule issue should be resolved in 1.5.24 - blame upstream. I'll update the package this Saturday, or Sunday at the latest.
