/tmp/pamac-build/displaylink/PKGBUILD: line 48: cd: displaylink-5.2.14: No such file or directory
@JustDevZero I'm on 5.1.4-1 and I'm having no luck.
I keep getting this when I enable / try to start the service:
-- A start job for unit displaylink.service has begun execution.
--
-- The job identifier is 51317.
Jun 03 09:27:46 EB-Manjaro modprobe[29689]: modprobe: FATAL: Module evdi not found in directory /lib/modules/5.1.4>
Jun 03 09:27:46 EB-Manjaro systemd[1]: displaylink.service: Control process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
-- Subject: Unit process exited
I tried removing everything and using the evdi-pre-release too with no luck. I'm not really finding anything else out there in terms of how to get this thing working on my T480s so far. Dock's an overpriced USB hub at present.
Anyone knows how it works on kernel linux-5.1.6 with Intel card? I'm a bit stuck on 4.20.13-arch1-1-ARCH, I want to update but at this moment I don't have enough HDD to backup everything.
PS: I know, I must update more frequently to avoid the kernel jumping.
@PlusMinus
My laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (5547), with video card (AMD Radeon R7 M265 2 GB DDR3)
In my MANJARO when searching the terminal on the packages "*mesa" it returns me the following listing
$ yay -Ss mesa | grep Installed

@vS0uz4 if you use a radeon you are most likely using mesa.
@PlusMinus
What do I do if I use MESA? How do I verify what is being used?
@vS0uz4 Older kernels should work alright. If you use mesa, pin it and update manually if you use something else I can't tell. Personally i switched from my Displaylink dock to a thunderbolt dock and I don't regret it a bit. Really, it depends on your use case, but IMHO the two viable options are: Get a travel adapter or get a thundebolt dock. Most displalink docks cover the middle ground and the d3100 I had did it poorly, mainly because of this driver.
@Quartie
I am intending to buy a Dock Station for use with DisplayLink, I also use Manjaro Linux (see 18.0.4 - Illyria) a distribution based on Arch Linux, my kernel version is (4.14.118-1-MANJARO) will I have compatibility issues?
Working with: archlinux 5.1.4, evdi-1.6.1 and displaylink 5.1.26-1
