This package reuses the previously created PGO profile to reduce rebuild times while retaining most of the performance benefit of PGO.

Generate a new profile when:

  • You feel there are too many "function control flow change" warnings.
  • Performance drops about 10% below PGO with a fresh profile.

As @direc85 suggested, since @thotypous now owns firefox-hg, and thanks to @nyanbinary:

  1. this package is now rebased upon firefox-nightly;

  2. this package is wayland-only and, meanwhile, firefox-hg contains an "any graphics server" implementation;

  3. Any suggestion can be added through a PR to: https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-firefox-wayland-hg

I also seem to require xorg-server-xwayland to start Firefox, while using sway.

GDK_BACKEND=wayland did not help.

I think Firefox still requires some XWayland, and we're enabling it correctly, but I could be wrong.

Anyways, updating to ~65.0b6, now with the same LTO/PGO from [extra].

If you don't like the extra compile time, delete the PKGBUILD lines I reference in a comment.

I've compiled and installed this package, but when I open firefox in a wayland session it is still using XWayland instead of wayland. Is there any special command to be used when opening it?

Finally have a working installation after using the PKGBUILD linked below. Haven't experienced any crashes yet. Recommend for those who do not want to wait for the official 65 release (next year?).

Updated PKGBUILD to sync with firefox package. Confirmed builds fine, wayland is at least semi-broken as of current tip though.

For me the build is failing with this error message:

checking for cbindgen... not found
