Thanks for maintaining this. Could you remove the addition of flightgear-data to the dependencies of the package? As it seems to me, this package is not necessary as the launcher can fetch the data by itself, so flightgear-data could be fully optional (-> optdepends). At least, merge it into the parent-depends, so AUR-helpers learn about the dependency at the right time.

Hi scottbouchm,

You will need to build and install flightgear-data first, as the flightgear package depends on it. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/flightgear-data/

Hi, just tried installing again using the Manjaro software manager GUI, it seemed positive, until:

Hi A23Bubba,

To get the package please click on "Download snapshot" in the menu on the right hand side of this page. Once you have downloaded the file you will need to extract it and then build the package with makepkg, when the compiling process is done you can then install the package with pacman. If you need any more help please let me know and I will assist where I can.

Sorry for any inconvenience that was caused by not having these packages updated on time. I do care about this project and will ensure that the packages are updated on a timely manner, unfortunately I had a massive situation that I had to deal with and could not get to it as quickly as I would have like to.

Thanks for the comment, a shame it's been left out of date.. I've never done a manual build / install, will have to find the guidance and apply your instructions... any pointers are welcome!

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe Deon has bigger things in life to worry about right now... is there anyone else who can update this repo?

Yes, there is obviously a version mismatch now, this package is 2 minor versions behind. I have updated simgear to the latest release and Deon (the current maintainer of flightgear and flightgear-data) just does not care. Both packages are flagged out of date since 2 weeks now...

You can just change the version number and checksums in the pkgbuild/srcinfo and it builds fine btw, it requires no actual changes in the build process.

Hi, failed to install on Manjaro today (07-06-2018) as it appears there is a version mismatch between Simgear and Flightgear.
