For those that are just looking for a transparency mode in gnome-terminal and don't need the notification feature I would like to refer those to gnome-terminal-transparency by hoschi.

@gnunn I'm glad to hear that. I hope 3.18.1 is working for you fine, too.

Just an FYI, upgraded to gnome 3.18 and transparency is working fine again

@Grinder Here it is :)
It took some time because I was waiting for the official Fedora patches. Sorry for that. ;)

Worked like a charm, waiting now for 3.18.0 version :-)

@gnunn @SunRed I had the same problem. Gnome 3.16.3-1

gnunn commented on 2015-09-16 20:12

I'm using Gnome 3.16 as my DE, if it's only me having the issue then I wouldn't sweat it but just wanted to check

@gnunn I used the patch from the official fedora package which seems to work right and adds some things like the correct translation of the transparency box and dark variant checkbox. However, I have not noticed a behaviour like this yet.
May I ask what WM/DE you are using? Are you using a compositor?

Just got an update for this yesterday, anybody else noticed that the transparency seems flaky now? If you adjust the transparency in the profile it seems like it is working, however when you restart the terminal no transparency but setting is correct. I'm using the dark option as well if it makes any difference.
