For those that are just looking for a transparency mode in gnome-terminal and don't need the notification feature I would like to refer those to gnome-terminal-transparency by hoschi.

Transparency only works for me with adwaita theme, is this a bug or does it work that way only?

Transparency doesn't work for me. Any idea why?

The issue below should be fixed by 3.12.2-2. No need to build patched gnome-themes-standard.

Note: Current version of gnome-themes-standard has a bug that make the menubar totally transparent when the window is transparent. So please build gnome-themes-standard with the upstream patch (https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-themes-standard/patch/?id=ff07d3583501c926eed811ac4a3f1023352861d6) to get the best experience. I'll upload the PKGBUILD for that if anyone wants it.
