@giuseppe I think it should be enabled by default, as long as you have the patched vte3-notification packages. One think to notice is to make sure that /etc/profile.d/vte.sh is sourced by your shell. Take a look at this page: https://github.com/gnunn1/terminix/wiki/VTE-Configuration-Issue. It is for another terminal, but Terminix is also based on VTE and the issue/solution is the same.

How do I enable notifications?

Since git.gnome.org doesn't respond with the git protocols, I just did it the classic way. Also I'm going to disown gnome-terminal-fedora and vte3-notification because I am moving away from gnome-ish desktops but I also don't have the time currently to maintain these packages.

Hello! I've you add the patches from Fedora to 3.22 you will likely hit a problem the the hungarion po-file. If just added the translation-strings at the bottom of the file, looks like the patch tries to commend-in a translation which was removed. Bye

@SunRed: Thank you. On the next update I will try to use that instead!

There's a couple of patches in 3.20.2-2, especially the dnd-crash one that I'm after. Would you mind adding them in from https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/gnome-terminal&id=3b27c2246b45b66df9b37c4f0ffcad0350d8b279 ? Thanks

@hoschi You can clone Fedora's git repo with git clone git://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/rpms/gnome-terminal.git and commit your changes locally. Every time they do a change you can rebase [1] your master branch by doing git pull --rebase. So you actually rebase the patches. [1] https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Branching-Rebasing

Hi SunRed! A new minor release (3.20.2) from upstream is available. It will require a small change for the Latvia-Translation, just for your convenience: diff --git a/po/lv.po b/po/lv.po index 0892f4b..a6aec64 100644 --- a/po/lv.po +++ b/po/lv.po @@ -2231,3 +2231,5 @@ msgstr "" msgid "C_lose Window" msgstr "Aizvērt _logu" +msgid "Transparent background" +msgstr "Caurspīdīgs fons" Bye Hoschi PS: How do you actually "rebase" the language patch? You did it the last time.

For those that are just looking for a transparency mode in gnome-terminal and don't need the notification feature I would like to refer those to gnome-terminal-transparency by hoschi. (Edit) Link: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnome-terminal-transparency
