When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

Is flashplayer included in this build of chrome or inbuilt flash is only included with dev channel?

*Scratch that, Skype's there (and so were my jre and jdk packages)* I dunno. I suppose, if re-packaging Skype is okay, then there should be no issues in doing so with Google Chrome or even Google Earth: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PERMISSION?h=packages/skype But even if they did move this some day, I'm not sure they'd keep both.

I think google chrome should be in the extra repository. I don't like Chromium.

Because you are so 64-bit.

Not working here without libpng12.
