Could you make a package for 64 bit version? I mean https://dl.google.com/earth/client/current/google-earth-stable_current_amd64.deb instead https://dl.google.com/earth/client/current/google-earth-stable_current_i386.deb.
Thank you.

@eazar001, like just stated, it isn't for Linux.

@lmouillart, 7.1.5 isn't for Linux.

What's "fully patched arch with kernel 4.0.4-2"? Latest one is 4.1.4-1: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/linux/
The Qt/Architecture tweaks can be enabled on top of the PKGBUILD. The "Texture Compression" trick is also on the Wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Google_Earth

I see the same error as rigon when I recompiled per hutou's suggestions (64b etc).
I think I saw the same error with i386, but I didn't keep notes.
According to Alchemist251 at this thread:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/earth/U8SlQy2nJLM
the problem is buggy qt libraries bundled with GE7. Alchemist251 points to this thread:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!category-topic/earth/linux/_h4t6SpY_II%5B1-25-false%5D
I haven't followed up on it yet, so this may or may not be a solution, but a) the alleged problem is specific and not black magic; and b) I've tried several (recent) suggestions posted here as well as suggestions posted in the first link above ("sudo", deleting ~/.googleearth), but GE7 continues to crash.
Including the first link above for the OP statement that GE7 runs fine if he shuts down the network before invoking GE7.
Running fully patched arch with kernel 4.0.4-2, FX-4100, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750, nvidia proprietary drivers, 16G mainstore.
I doubt that it's relevant, but I have a 4K display (which requires special configuration, so who knows?)

thank you hutou, it worked now.
attempted fix had worked in the past but since an update was not working. after a new update and your post I gave an other try again and works!!!
so good news for everyone.

@rigon: The "Not implemented reached in bool net::HaveOnlyLoopbackAddresses()" isn't the issue. I see it, too, with the latest version but it doesn't crash for me.
I'm using Mesa 10.5.2 on an AMD card.

I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.
