I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

@grugnog - I'll take your word for it, but it doesn't make much sense to me. If they're sending me a link to a download in reply to my request for Google Earth Pro, why would they send a link to Google Earth? Oh well.

@qKUqm3wtY4, like I already said, there is no Google Earth Pro for Linux. It links to an old Google Earth Free. Not the Pro.

@grugnog There is a Linux version of Google Earth Pro. When you request access from Google, they'll send you the bin file, along with a username and password to access the license. I have no clue how to install the bin file successfully under arch. I've tried, but I've had no success. If would really be great if someone would take the time to make an AUR package which asks for the bin file directiory (if that's possible).

There isn't a Linux version of Earth Pro, but the windows version seems to work just fine (at least, I couldn't find anything not working). I guess it's up to the maintainer of this package if they want to morph it into a Earth Pro package, or stick with the deb install, and perhaps we can make a separate google-earth-pro AUR. In any case, this worked for me to install, using the default wine package (and a clean prefix): wget http://dl.google.com/earth/client/advanced/current/GoogleEarthProWin.exe WINEARCH=win32 wine GoogleEarthProWin.exe
