Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

For *ME* removing/renaming /etc/fonts/conf.d/65-fonts-persian.conf solved the crashes.

Just going out on a limb here but reading the instructions would probably help.

I also have the same problem as canurabus and testdude281: Crash log: Major Version 7 Minor Version 0 Build Number 0002 Build Date Dec 13 2012 Build Time 17:54:43 OS Type 3 OS Major Version 3 OS Minor Version 7 OS Build Version 4 OS Patch Version 0 Crash Signal 11 Crash Time 1359501189 Up Time 0.004529 Stacktrace from glibc: ./libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x1e9fab)[0xf75dffab] ./libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x1ea1f3)[0xf75e01f3] linux-gate.so.1(__kernel_sigreturn+0x0)[0xf779d400] I've deleted .googleearth directory but it's still crashing.

No you didn't.

I have the same issue as testdude281, with the same crash log. The google-earth6 package doesn't work for me either... I posted a comment on that package's page.

What did I just say?

I fear that these options do not work 100%, the differences are minimal between them and the default.

Det commented on 2013-01-25 19:24 (UTC)

Yeah, the "-style GTK|plastique|cleanlooks" flags have some minor effect but I don't know to what extent does it follow your current theme.

Hi Det. Is possible make who Google-Earth use a Gtk theme? I saw an option in ubuntu that seems to work, at least in older versions but does not work in Arch: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2009/04/make-google-earth-use-gtk
